yay for Valentines day!

Today was a good day. Gabe had his very first Valentines day party at school and came home with a heap load of candy. Nolan and I went to the park and had a blast while Gabe was at school (dont tell Gabe, he would be so mad!)

I had a great meeting for Relief Society, it is amazing how we can put our heads together and come up with such amazing ideas!! We had to plan for the Relief Society Birthday and I feel that the sisters are going to be blown away at how great of a event this will be!! I absolutly love being in the Relief Society Presidency, what an amazing way to get to know and serve the sisters. I have made some great friends already.

I had my mom and grandma over tonight for dinner of chicken and noodles over mashed potatoes. It turned out really good and we really enjoyed our time together. It was a great Valentines Day dinner, a nice "girls" night.

I will post pictures on how to make the rice pudding tomorrow, they are in detail.

Here is a great recipe for everyone, I found this recipe for Buttermilk pancakes and I will never make a different recipe again, these are great!! We had a bunch left over this morning so James took them into work for the guys to have.

Buttermilk pancakes

3 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons white sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup milk
3 eggs
1/3 cup butter, melted

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat together buttermilk, milk, eggs and melted butter. Keep the two mixtures separate until you are ready to cook.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. You can flick water across the surface and if it beads up and sizzles, it's ready!
Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture, using a wooden spoon or fork to blend. Stir until it's just blended together. Do not over stir! Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/2 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

Here is some newer pictures of the family :)
Happy Valentines Day!!
