I was tagged

I was tagged by a wonderful gal Jan thanks :)
So 7 wonderful random facts about me. (YIKES!)

1.I have never been pulled over. I am scared out of my mind about being pulled over. I think about it quite a bit and try to think of what I would say.....do I cry? do I make something up? do I talk to him like a friend or just stay quiet?! what do you do?!

2. I have lived in Hawaii twice and in Ankara Turkey. I don't have too may memories of either of them, mostly of Hawaii. Enough that I can still smell distinct smells. I love the people there and the culture. We even named our sons with Hawaiian middle names Gabriel Kalani and Nolan Kai. We will probubly keep doing that too with future children.

3. I have danced all my life. I have tapped the longest and still dream about going back. I have also done jazz, ballet (not graceful enough though), hula, hip hop, and cheer. I love learning new styles of dance. If I had a open night or two a week, I would so go back....but not for a long while.

4. I have gray hair and a lot of it. I am 25 and have a lot of gray hair. Luckily it is mostly in the back, but it is enough that I have to watch how I part my hair just in case my roots are showing.....and no....it isn't blond hair...it is silvery white hair.

5. I say sorry in almost every conversation I am in. A very very bad habit.

6. I delivered Gabe breech. It was my choice and I was young and was scared to death of C-sections. I do not recommend it to anyone. His head got stuck for a long time with out oxygen, and while they were trying to get him to breath they punctured his lung. It was also the WORST back labor ever.

7. Styrofoam makes me want to vomit. I cannot stand it. Even just thinking about it makes me sick. The sound, the texture everything. It is kinda the same way I feel about chalk..........ugh....... I need to stop thinking about it now.....I'm nauseous

Well, that is all I can think of right now.
Here are some people I tag
Tara, Erin, Emily, Crystal, Christy, Danika, and Randi. All family!!! :)

I'm full

I am full, let me tell you the reasons:

I am full of food:
After the Office party we had A LOT of pizza left over, and LOTS AND LOTS of snacks. Then on Saturday, we had Nolans party and James and I had a huge spread of breakfast food...crepes, bacon, sausage, strata, fruit, monkey bread, yada yada yada. Then after church on Sunday I ate way too much at James' parents, she made a great roast with potatoes and gravy. Although I loved all the food, I don't think I can eat for a few days....I just don't know if there is any room!!

I am full of sweets:
With all the sweets from the Office party and the cupcakes and left over brownies and m&ms, I am just stuffed!!

I am full of laughter:
Gabe started telling "knock knock" jokes this weekend. They make absolutely no sense at all but they are hilarious and keep me laughing. They usually go something like this...
Gabe-knock knock
me- who's there
Gabe- pants
me- pants who
Gabe- PANTS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.......GET IT?!?!?! PANTS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD?!?!? HAHAHAHAHAHA!
**like I said, they make no sense AT ALL**

I am full of love:
3 months or so ago James started leaving me messages on the white board on our fridge when he is on his way out the door to work. Things that say like "Love you" "I miss you already" and "Thanks for the wonderful weekend, I love you so much." I will be going about my day and usually half way through the day I get a glimpse of the white board and it just gives me butterflies in my stomach, just like the day we met. James is so good to me. I love him so much.

I am full of blessings:
I am blessed with some of the greatest friends, some of the best boys. I also had the opportunity on Saturday to go to Womens Conference, it was amazing. It touched not only me but it seemed to touch just about everyone there a little differently. I am so blessed to know that Heavenly Father loves me and that I am a daughter of God.

I am full of ideas:
Catherine and I are starting to gear up for Super Saturday. I will be honest, I have never been to one....(James seems to always be working) We have so many great things that we doing. We also have like 4 Enrichments planned. 2 in the works and 2 that we are still thinking about. Busy busy busy!

I am full of thanks:
Thanks to all of my friends and family. Everyone who helps me grow emotionally and spiritually. I am so thankful for everything I have in my life. Thank you thank you thank you! :)

Dinkin Flicka

Here at the Sautter home we take The Office very seriously.....We DVR them all, watch them over and over and seriously can quote them all by the end of the season. Is that sad? .........Probably.....

When it was season 2 we had our good friends Tara and Jason over to have an office party. We had so much fun and realized it would be more fun to have more people there next time. So James invited over all of the guys and some of their wives/girlfriends over for the evening.
All the food we ate had something to do with the office with the quotes with the food. We had quotes up for people to read and even a trivia game of finish the sentence and who ever won got a fun little prize of office stuff. And last but not least we had an actual stapler in jello. Hilarious.
It was fun to plan this night and look everything up. Thanks so much Tara for your help!!!

So if you have any desire to throw your own office party here are a few of the items we had :) (Pictures down below!!)
Here is the list of food and quotes that we had (lets see how many you remember!)

"Pizza, the great ethnic equalizer. Rich people love pizza, poor people love pizza, white people love pizza, black people love pizza.......wait......do black people like pizza?!"

French Onion Sun Chips
Pam's favorite (didn't have a quote)

Ryan: Did you get the kind with the cookies? Instead of the...
Michael: Why don't you just eat it, OK? And here you go, Stanley the manly.
Stanley: Oh, thanks.
Michael: There you go.
Stanley: This isn't the big surprise, is it? Because we've been having a pretty horrible day.
Michael: Uh, nope. Nope. This isn't the surprise. It's surprising, um... because you didn't expect it. But you will... you'll know it when you see it.

Michael: It's Grrrrrrape! Soda.
Jim: Tony the tiger. You don't hear that much any more.

Dwight: Oh, really nothing? Fact: You are drinking grape soda. You never drink grape soda. Fact: You are talking to Jim. You never talk to Jim.
Michael: Fact: I love grape soda. I always have. Fact: Jim and I talk all the time. We tell each other secrets.

Sugarplum Fairy Wands
Phyllis: Where would you like the Rice Krispy Treat stars?
Angela: They're Sugarplum fairy wands.
Phyllis: Sugarplum fairy wands.
Angela: It's like you weren't even at the meeting.

Popcorn
For Movie day Fridays (no quote for that one either)

The prizes

The stack of 10 pizzas all ready to go!
Jello mold, it's peach if anyone wanted to know :)
The spread
Everything ready to go
Getting ready to sit, we watched last seasons episodes while waiting
During the show, Nolan ate waaaaayyy too much
It was 11:30 when we finally decided to be done cleaning up, we left a few things out that we didn't care if we tossed in the morning, including the jello mold. When we woke up, this is what we found, it decided to combust on itself sometime during the night.

So did anyone else think the show was hilarious!! And I almost cried at the end :)

**I will be posting a bunch of new recipes on Monday, this is a blog about yummy recipes, and I have had no time to post them!! coming soon......**

best weekend ever **with pictures**

Okay, I can't say best weekend ever. I did have a really bad cold, lost my voice, and was busy beyond words. But I got to do something with my family that we will remember for a long time.
James' work had a "bring your family to work" day. Our family consisted of 14 people (James' side of the family was in town for the birthday party) We got to go out to see where James works and see what he does and how he trains (He works out at Hanford with the Hanford Patrol on their paramilitary team that helps protect the site from terrorist attacks and other bad guys as Gabe calls them) It was such a great experience and we all had so much fun!! We got to see the bomb dogs and see one of them show off how he searches for weapons. The kids got to play in the trucks and play with all the sirens and radios. We got to see the "shoot house", where the guys train. We got to watch some of the SRT team show off their skills (grenade launchers, machine guns, flash bangs, so on and so on) We got to actually shoot some of the guns that they use out there. I am pretty shy around guns, but it was a lot of fun to shoot the guns that James is always talking about (which by the way is an M4 rifle)

The highlight of the trip (not necessarily mine) is when James and some other family members got to go on a test run on the evoc course, which is where the guys practice defensive driving, I hear so many stories about it. It was driven by the best guy on the team, Becky was in front, James, Mike , and Matt were in the back (a good 700 pounds all together back there) Well, they did one round slowly then they took off! All I saw when he started driving through the cones was heads in the back window bouncing off the sides of the car and screeches going around the corners, at the end of the course is a sharp turn and the car didn't make it too well and ended up going off the road into sage brush and hit a post. James said that the guy was yelling "THERES TOO MUCH BEEF IN THE BACK, I CANT DO IT!".............lol, I guess they were all laughing historically. It was so funny to watch.

Thanks James for the great experience :) We all had so much fun.
**Rachel, I have like 100 pictures for you, I will email them to you this week.**
The grandkids on the way in
Gabe in one of the rooms in the shoot house
Out side one of the vehicles
The kids playing in the car
James showing Gabe some of the buttons
Papa with some of the kids waiting for the bomb dog
Becky, Kaiden, and Lauren waiting for the demonstration to start
All of us with our head gear on waiting for the shooting to begin, it was NOT easy to keep these things on the kids one bit.

Me with the M4

Isn't Judy so cute?

James showing us his stuff, you could tell he does this a lot

Here is a video of the car starting to go fast through the cones then another car speeding by

Another picture from my angle when they went to take off

After a long day, we all wanted one of these

transformer cake

My sister in law Becky came in town last week with her super cute boys. Kaidens 4th birthday was last month or so, but since he has never celebrated with Nana and Papa and this part of the family we decided to have a birthday party here.

Kaiden is all boy, always wrestling, jumping, pretending to be superheros and most of all, playing transformers with Gabe. So I made a transformer cake with cupcakes.

The cake was Almond cake with almond cream cheese filling. The cupcakes were dark chocolate with Oreo Buttercream and some were with the extra Almond Cream cheese frosting.

Peanut Butter Pie

A very interesting pie, not one that I thought I would really like, but ended up absolutely loving it!! Very different but the flavor is so good. If you like peanut butter cups and things like that, you will love this pie

Peanut Butter pie

1/2 package cream cheese
3/4 cup confectioners sugar
3/4 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup milk
16 ounce package frozen whipped topping, thawed (half used in peanut butter mixture, half used for top of pie)
1 9 inch prepared graham cracker crust

Beat together cream cheese and confectioners sugar. Mix in peanut butter and milk. Beat until smooth. Fold in whipped topping. Spoon into graham cracker pie shell; put in refrigerator for a few hours till firm.

I wish I had a picture of it, but we ate it too fast :)
Also this time, I used fat free cream cheese, fat free whipped cream, skim milk, and omitted half of the butter and sugar in the crust. Still not the healthiest dessert, but I did all I could do to make myself feel better!

one of my favorite cookies

**No, I don't eat lemons with my cookies, but I had to make sure I got the point across that these are LEMON cookies :)**
So one of my favorite memories from childhood is eating cookies, reading books, and watching full house while curled up in a ball sitting with my dad on the couch. One of his favorite cookies was a cookie called Lemon Coolers (anyone else remember those?!) they were like a shortbread cookie with a cool lemon powdered sugar coating. They were messy but so yummy. My dad would get a paper towel and put about 8 on it and share with me. But about 10 years ago (or something like that) they went off the market :(

I was thinking about those cookies a couple weeks ago and went on a search for a copycat recipe. I believe I found one, and I am so happy. They were so easy and fun to make, not like a lot of other cookies, very crisp and sweet.
So now I share with all of you.

Lemon coolers:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup shortening
3 Tbsp lemonade concentrate
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups cake flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon water

Powdered sugar mixture:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 package lemon flavored powdered koolade

Preheat oven to 325 degrees
In large bowl cream together first 6 ingredients
Add salt flour and baking powder and mix
Add water and mix until it becomes a thick dough

Roll into small 3/4 inch balls and put onto parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Bake for 13-15 minutes until golden brown and the bottoms are getting darker.

Put lemon/powder sugar mixture into ziplock bag and mix.

After cookies are out of the oven for about 2 minutes and still warm place a few in the bag at a time and toss in powdered sugar mixture until fully coated and put onto cooling rack.
Then enjoy!!

way over due post

I usually post 2 to 3 times a week. It has now been about 2 weeks!! Where has my time gone? I don't have the slightest idea. This is all I could think of..............
James:

Well, he has been working a lot of over time and when he finally had some time off we completely shut out the world and caught up on "first 48" and "Ghost hunters". James also got a new calling.......lol.........in scouts.......Scout Committee Secretary?! or something along those lines. I think he was secretly excited for this calling. Look at his face when he modeled his new uniform, he loves it. Also something very exciting, James and his whole family battle with high cholesterol. He always gets the third degree during his yearly checkups at work, and this year?? He lowered his number from 329 to 258 all on his own without meds and just by healthy eating and exercise....I am so proud of him and the hard work he puts in to making sure he is healthy not only for himself but for his family.

Isn't he so sexy? If only they were shorts :)

Me:

Now that school is back in we are back to having our presidency meetings and I am so pumped up to start planning my first Super Saturday! The ideas are just rolling around in my head :) The past few weeks I have been making a lot of cookies and treats that I will be sharing the recipes shortly. I have also been enjoying playing with the boys and cleaning....I can't really say I have been enjoying cleaning, but I do enjoy the end result! (which never never ever last for long)

Me Nolan and Gabe right before bed
Gabe:

He has been enjoying a lot of things lately. He has been spending a lot of time with the neighbor boy who he gets a long with really well. He has announced recently that he is going to be a super hero when he gets older. When I asked him why he chose that he said while shrugging..."well....I already know all of the super hero moves" and then decided to show me all of his "moves". Gabe also started school! He was so ready to get back to school. He is now at Kristen's school (Wishing Well Preschool) It is the cutest set up and he already knew some of the kids that go there from church. He came home and wouldn't stop talking about everything he learned. Especially telling us that he learned about the S word...........I automatically said "what do you mean you learned about the S word?!" but quickly realized he meant words that start with S :) He is in for a wonderful year of growth!

Here are the pictures from the first day. He is demonstrating his "moves"

And this one is when I got to the school and he was getting out of the car. I love the "please leave me alone" look he is giving me

Nolan:

Oh Nolan. What a sweet boy he is. I love him so much. I am so glad to say that he finally gave us about 4 days of no fits and no timeouts! It was out of no where and I savoured every minute of it. It was so much easier to talk to him and he was actually HAPPY. He goes a lot of days just acting frustrated. I am glad to see things maybe getting a little easier for him. He is enjoying finally getting to participate with Gabe and James during the wrestling matches. He asks in the cutest way. He says "wees weesle! wees weesle!" and then jumps right on James' back. He also feels now that he has to help with EVERYTHING, like putting away clothes, putting away the silverware, vacuum, sweep...you name it, he has to have a hand at getting it done.

**Soon to come....a whole lot of tasty tasty recipes!!**
